Involve + Engage = Sustain: GEAR UP Gear!

Involve + Engage = Sustain is a column dedicated to providing you with specific tools on community and parent engagement written by Becky Wilson, our Community Engagement Specialist.

Happy November, everyone!  I hope you remembered to set your clocks to “fall back” this weekend, my favorite day of the year. :)

Just a small sample of what's in Becky's closet!
As many of your know by now, I am a believer in logo gear, and there’s no better way to start a conversation about your efforts at your schools or identify your mission than by proudly wearing the Oregon GEAR UP logo.

At last week’s GEAR UP West conference I wore some GEAR UP logo shirts that I had made, and I’ll repeat my offer to those of you who did not attend:  I can have the logo embroidered on any shirt you send me for $7 each.  (And yes, that is the actual cost! None of the logo wear money will go to my Cayman Islands account.)  I bought these shirts and vest very inexpensively at Wal*Mart, but don’t let that influence you Nordy’s shoppers!  Adding your name or any other printing would add something to the cost, and I would be happy to research that for you if you wish.
FYI:  For those of you who would like to combine or pair your school logo with the GEAR UP logo:  creating the embroidery die cost $25 at the local company I used.
